Created by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, Sleep Rx is quickly working its way up in the ranks of popular sleep-aids and supplements.
I have only seen positive consumer reviews associated with this product, and with a blend of all-natural, non-addictive ingredients, it’s easy to see why there’s a lot of hype.
Advertisements state that Sleep Rx is the “right move against restlessness and sleeplessness.” However, I’m a little skeptical of such a highly recommended yet extremely affordable product. Did the manufacturers sacrifice quality for price?

Are the Ingredients Reliable?
Sleep Rx offers a 610 mg proprietary blend of herbs and botanicals for promoting sleep. While a few ingredients in Sleep RX were familiar to me, I had to do a little extra research to find out whether or not Sleep RX would be effective.
Here’s what I found . . .
Valerian Extract . This non-addictive, non-toxic herb interacts with the central nervous system and relaxes muscle groups. Studies have shown that Valerian significantly decreases the amount of time it takes to fall asleep, without interfering with previously established sleeping patterns.
Piper Methysticum . Also known as Kava, this South Pacific herb is used to calm anxiety, stress, and restlessness. Although there is little clinical evidence validating Kava’s effectiveness, many believe that the Kava-lactones can interact with the central nervous system to produce a relaxing effect on the body.
L-Theanine. This amino acid is the reason why green tea (and other forms of tea from the camellia sinensis plant) is so calming. It acts antagonistically against the stimulatory effects of caffeine, soothing the body and promoting relaxation.
Paeonia Lactiflora . More commonly known as Peony, this flower can block chemicals that trigger muscle cramps, which eases restless leg syndrome. It is also naturally rich in antioxidants, effectively eliminating free radicals and toxins that trigger insomnia.
Ziziphus Spinosa Extract. Many consumers know this herb as the Jujube plant. It is a natural treatment for upset stomach, sore throats, and other cold symptoms that trigger sleeplessness.
Wild Lettuce Extract. Wild Lettuce Extract may be bitter but it offers calming, relaxing, and pain-relieving effects on the body. Many users turn to Wild Lettuce as a treatment for whooping cough, insomnia, and even excitability in children.
N-Acetyl-5-Methoxytrptamine. Don’t let its name scare you -this ingredient is merely the scientific name for the hormone Melatonin, which creates a mild drowsiness. Studies have shown that melatonin supplementation can be effective for establishing healthy sleep-wake cycles.
Will it Cause Grogginess?
Out of the all the ingredients listed above, Valerian root extract is probably the most reliable and most effective ingredient in Sleep Rx. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, experts at WebMD have this to say about Valerian:
“Valerian can cause some side effects such as headache, excitability, uneasiness, and even insomnia in some people. A few people feel sluggish in the morning after taking valerian, especially at higher doses.”
Additionally, there are some serious safety concerns associated with the use of oral Kava, as there have been several cases of liver damage.
Furthermore, Wild Lettuce interacts negatively with CNS depressant medications.
On the other hand, from the few reviews I was able to find on Sleep-RX, consumers were especially positive about their results, stating that Sleep-RX helped them to fall asleep faster and wake up refreshed the next morning.
“These really worked,” stated Sharon E. Watson at Amazon.com, “I have problems with restless leg syndrome, but I was able to rest through out the night and I was glad to find something that was all natural to use . . .thank you.”
Such anecdotal evidence makes me think that Sleep RX is safe to use on a short-term basis.
To promote relaxation and encourage healthier sleeping patterns, 1 tablet of Sleep-RX should be taken at least 30 minutes before bedtime. If you experience grogginess the next day or feel the ingredients are too strong, some consumers recommend that you cut the pill in half for a smaller, safer dosage.
If you are taking any medication for depression or insomnia or have any other medical conditions that may be aggravated by Sleep RX, please consult your doctor before using.
Product Pricing and Guarantees
Depending on where you order, you can find Sleep RX for a fraction of the price of prescription medications. Some stores will take the price down even further as part of a sale or promotion.
After shopping around, I was amazed at how affordable Sleep RX could be:
• Hitechpharma.com: $19.95
• Amazon.com: $7.60
• AllStarHealth.com: $9.09
While I couldn’t find a guarantee, I believe that the low price doesn’t require one.

My Thoughts on Sleep Rx
Sleep RX might not be the most widely known sleep-aid on the market, but it definitely comes highly recommended by those who’ve used it.
Considering the fact that Sleep RX contains a unique blend of all-natural ingredients, I have to admit I’m amazed consumers can buy this high-quality formula for such an affordable low price online. I can see why Sleep RX deserves its time in the spotlight.
