Ingredients for Iron Dreams

Arnold Iron Dream contains a 3.555 mg proprietary blend. This blend features two matrixes, one designed for deep sleep and the other for muscle enhancement. I have listed the most powerful ingredients in the blend:

Melatonin directly influences the circadian sleep rhythm and determines how easily the body transitions through phases such as sleeping and waking. People suffering from melatonin deficiency likely have a hard time getting out bed in the morning and experience insomnia at night.[1]

People usually take .3-5 mg for balancing sleep rhythms.[2] Arnold Iron Man should contain enough to achieve desired effects.

5-HTP is needed for serotonin production. Serotonin deficiency is thought to be a factor in many sleep disorders. 5-HTP supplementation increases the amount of time the brain remains in a deep REM (rapid eye movement) sleep state. This seems to decrease the overall amount of sleep needed per night.[3]

5-HTP dosing depends on certain factors such as health condition, weight, height, and age.

GABA (Gamma Amino Butyric Acid) is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter of the central nervous system. It induces the hypnotic slow brainwaves that cause drowsiness.[4] GABA release is directly correlated to REM sleep states. A GABA deficiency makes it difficult to enter REM sleep states or stay in deep sleep for long.[5]

There has not been enough research on human subjects to determine a recommended dose.

L-Glutamine is essential for immune function. Plasma glutamine levels are depleted during prolonged exercise. This impairs the immune system and leaves athletes vulnerable to sickness or infection. This also slows glycogen synthesis which increases risk of muscle damage.[6]

A dose of 20-30 g per day is recommended to prevent exercise-induced glutamine deficiency.[6] Arnold Iron Dream does not contain that much in its entire blend.

Fenugreek is recommended for endurance-training athletes because it replenishes muscle glycogen stores, the primary carbohydrate source for muscle tissue.[7] The more glycogen stored in muscles, the more muscles work before reaching exhaustion. Glycogen deficiency results in muscle tissue damage and fatigue.[8] Fenugreek is proven to increase glycogen synthesis by 63% when taken within 2 hours of working out.[7]

One study achieved results when dosing athletes with 2.0 mg per kg body weight within 2 hours exercise.[7] I’m not sure if Arnold Iron Dream contains enough to prevent glycogen deficiency.

BCAA (L-Leucine, L-Valine, L-Isoleucine) stimulates muscle-building proteins that hasten muscle tissue repair and recovery. BCAAs are given to people with muscle wasting conditions such as anorexia, malnutrition, and people confined to bed.[9]

BCAAs also increase tryptophan production and improve 5-HTP synthesis. This delays fatigue and sustains energy levels for a longer time period.[10]

A typical dose for treating muscle wasting is 4 grams per day.[9] Arnold Iron Dream doesn’t contain that much, but it may still offer some benefit.

Schwarzenegger Teams with MusclePharm

MusclePharm has maintained a generally positive reputation, although the Better Business Bureau (BBB) gives this company an “F” rating. This is due to 3 customer complaints in the last 3 years. These complaints pertain to problems with the product or service.[11]

Getting The Most out Of Arnold Iron Dream

Each purchase of Arnold Iron Dream comes with 6.03 oz. Iron Dream powder, offered in fruit punch and grape flavors. The label gives specific instructions for optimizing the product’s effectiveness.

Take one serving (1 scoop) and mix it with 6-8 oz. of water. Consume the whole serving 30-45 minutes before going to sleep.

Continue the cycle for 5 nights, and then take a break for 2 nights. Arnold Iron Dream can be used repeatedly as long as this cycle is observed.

The best results are seen with at least 8 hours sleep. This allows the product adequate time to release its effects before you wake up.

Cautions and Warnings

The product label also gives health advisories to keep in mind while supplementing with Arnold Iron Dream.

Although this product was designed to stimulate male hormones during sleep, it can still be used by women to achieve a quality night’s sleep. However, Arnold Iron Dream is not intended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It should be avoided if you plan to become pregnant in the near future.

Additionally, this product might have dangerous reactions to certain medications or substances. Avoid alcohol, recreational drugs, and other sleep aids while taking Arnold Iron Dream. Talk to your doctor if you are taking prescription medication, because some medications react badly to sleep aids.

Does It Look Good?

Although this product carries the name of a high-profile celebrity, it doesn’t appear to be over-hyped or over-priced. It contains quality ingredients proven to deliver advertised results, although I’m concerned some ingredients need to be administered at a higher dose.

You don’t have much to lose when buying Arnold Iron Dream. Even if it falls short of some advertised claims, it’s likely to help you sleep better.
