Offering “sleep that is out of this world,” SomaRest is a natural alternative to prescription sleep-aid medications.

Unlike other supplements, SomaRest is made entirely with all-natural, non-addictive, and non-toxic ingredients, enabling consumers to use it night after night without the worry of long-term negative side effects.

SomaRest even utilizes a “synergistic approach to optimizing sleep patterns,” so you can affordably get the sleep you deserve.

However, I’m still not entirely convinced that SomaRest is the best sleep-aid. Is it all show and no go?

What do the Ingredients Do?

If you’re unfamiliar with the ingredients in SomaRest, it can be a bit baffling to look at the ingredient label. Are the ingredients effective? Are they in the right concentrations? How can you tell?

Here’s the basic breakdown of what’s inside:

Valerian Root. Doctors often recommend taking 400-900 mg of Valerian extract within 2 hours of bedtime. While SomaRest only uses 300 mg per serving, Valerian can work synergistically with other ingredients in the formula (such as hops) to calm anxieties and relax muscles.

GABA. Although there is not a precise recommended dosage for GABA, anecdotal evidence suggests that GABA can relieve anxiety, improve mood, stabilize blood pressure, and even relieve pain.

Hops. Experts believe that hops can ease tension and anxiety while simultaneously improving indigestion and intestinal disorders. It contains the alkaloid Lupulinum which produces a mild relaxing effect on the body.

Passion Flower. This herb contains various chemicals with calming, sleep inducing effects. Passionflower is typically recommended as a treatment for generalized anxiety disorder in 90 mg dosages, but Somarest supplies a whopping 150 mg per serving.

L-Tryptophan. L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid necessary for the production of serotonin. Studies have shown that increased levels of serotonin can improve both mood and ability to sleep. Keep in mind that high dosages can cause side effects such as fatigue, nerve pain, and nausea, but Somarest only contains 150 mg so you shouldn’t be too worried.

Chamomile. Often dubbed “the world’s most soothing herb,” chamomile treats digestive disorders and relieves inflammation, relaxing the body for improved sleep quality.

Velvet Bean. Also known as Cowhage, Velvet Bean has been used as a traditional part of Ayurvedic medicine for calming muscles and relieving pain.

L-Theanine. An amino acid found almost exclusively in tea plants, L-theanine is the reason certain teas are calming and soothing rather than stimulating. L-theanine acts antagonistically against the stimulatory effects of caffeine.

Lavender. This amazing herb offers various therapeutic properties, such as providing relief for anxiety, depression, mental exhaustion, and insomnia. It’s a natural antiseptic and antibiotic, giving your body the extra boost it needs to fight off infection responsible for restlessness.

Peppermint Leaf. Because peppermint has a calming and numbing effect on the body, it is frequently used to treat anxiety associated with depression, as well as muscle spasms and restlessness. Experts recommend taking 90 mg of peppermint oil as a natural treatment remedy, but Somarest only uses a small 20 mg concentration.

Melatonin. Melatonin is used to adjust the body’s internal clock, making it an effective natural treatment for jet lag and establishing (or reestablishing) healthy sleep-wake cycles. For jet lag, experts recommend taking .5-5 mg at bedtime; Somarest provides a safe 1.5 concentration.

Does it Cause Side Effects?

SomaRest contains all-natural ingredients commonly found in a wide variety of sleep-aids, and consequently, the side effects resemble many other leading brand name formulas and supplements.
Several consumers reported vivid dreams and mild grogginess after using SomaRest. However, more often than not, Somarest users reported they were satisfied with their results and slept soundly throughout the night.

Recommended Use

Although HighEnergyLabs had little information on how to use this supplement, consumer reviews were able to fill in the gaps.

Most satisfied users recommend taking 1 or2 capsules 30 minutes before bedtime, preferably at the same time each night to establish healthy sleep behavior.

Of course, for safety’s sake, you’ll want to avoid taking SomaRest with any form of alcohol, and you should not operate any heavy machinery after taking it.

Is SomaRest Expensive?

If you buy from the manufacturers at, SomaRest costs about $30 a bottle plus shipping and handling.

However, I prefer to shop around and keep an eye out for the best online discounts and deals. While some sites are more reliable than others, I think you might be interested in the following prices: $27.75 $19.89 $17.29

What if it Doesn’t Work?

Before ordering your first bottle of SomaRest, make sure to read the fine print. Where you order is just as important as finding the right supplement, and some sites don’t always offer a money-back guarantee.

As far as I could tell, High Energy Labs does not give a guarantee for its products, so if it doesn’t work for you, then you’re stuck with an expensive paperweight. Even large sites such as won’t refund your money.

After a bit of snooping around, I discovered that offered a 30 day guarantee on purchases, but the guarantee does not apply to shipping and handling charges.

Who Makes SomaRest?

SomaRest is manufactured and distributed by High Energy Labs, Inc. (The same makers of TestoRX and HGH Complete). The company is located in Heber, UT, and has not received any complaints by the Better Business Bureau in the last three years (though it does have an F rating on a scale of A+ to F).

the planet.”

Should You Try SomaRest?

SomaRest might make any revolutionary or innovative, but the ingredients are sound and the low-price wins a few points in its favor.

Many consumers found it offered results comparable to some of the leading prescriptions on the market. Though it isn’t perfect, SomaRest has a great deal of potential for relaxing the body and helping you wake up refreshed the next day.
